Despite the sub-zero temperatures and a skiff of snow, we took Ethan and Hayley to the city easter egg hunt with the intention that it would be character building to do battle with hundreds of other sugar-frenzied children and their camcorder-swinging parents. As it turned out, the event was well organized and Ethan and Hayley both made quite a haul. What we didn't plan for was the experience that followed the mad dash for the candy. Ethan was still combing through the lawn hoping to find a few more frozen tootsie rolls when he noticed a father and his two daughters doing the same thing but with near-empty baskets that signified a late arrival to the hunt. I asked Ethan if he wanted to share some candy, and without a moment's hesitation he grabbed a giant handful of sweets from his basket and redistributed them over the frozen turf. After spying on the delighted girls when they came upon the patch of recycled treats, Ethan looked up and said, "I feel good inside, Dad."
After much persuasion Danielle finally gave in and let us make a blog of our own. We hate to jump on bandwagons of any kind, but it seemed like everyone else was having so much fun blogging, we really couldn't resist. Since this is our maiden voyage, we'll keep this one brief. As much as we'd like to claim to have exciting tales of our own to post here, much of the content will likely come from the kids - Ethan, Hayley, and Webb Kid #3 (due in October). Hopefully soon we'll have some posts listing Ethan and Hayley's greatest hits, including quotes like "I'm sorry baby" - Hayley, and "I learned a hot move, wanna see?" - Ethan, but until then, welcome to the WebbPage and come again soon.
